This musical retelling of the “Beauty and the Beast” fairy tale was Disney’s first Broadway show and recreated the magical world of the animated film in a live theatrical production. Belle offers herself as a prisoner to the Beast to save her father, and learns that people are not always what they appear to be. A delight for all ages. 


Audition Information:

Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Alliance for the Arts located at 10091 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers.   Auditions are open to ages 6-18.  You must be available for all 12 Saturday rehearsals from 10:00-3:00 beginning Saturday, August 15th (unless approved in advance by the director); all dress rehearsals on November 2, 3, and 4; and all shows on November 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14.   All rehearsal conflicts must be clearly stated on the audition form. 

Please bring a karaoke CD or 16 bars of sheet music (accompanyist provided), resume, and head shot (or school photo).  There will be a dance audition, so please wear appropriate shoes.  If needed, call backs will be on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.

Upon being cast in the show, there will be a $150 non-refundable workshop fee due at the first rehearsal (i.e., Saturday, August 15th).  Workshops will be provided during the first 8 rehearsals.  Previous workshops have included mime, stage combat, Fosse style dance, tap dance, theater tech, monologues, and audition techniques.
